This quarter, some Finnish anti-tank men by 1:72 Scale Miniatures... (The UM-MT T-26 model 1932 is not part of the build)
The set has six figures, two with satchel charges, one with a bread bag full of explosives, two with Molotov coctails and one with the legendary piece of anti-tank firewood...
The sculptor has given almost every soldier his own puukko knife, which is a nice touch. This anti-tank soldier is wielding what looks like a four-kilo, factory-made satchel charge.
These figures certainly have a lot of character, but obviously the sculptor usually sculpts 28mm figures. The fellow on the left has a bread bag full of explosives while the guy on the right intends to use a field-made satchel charge consisting of a stick hand grenade and four kilo-sized TNT blocks.
The guy on the left plans to insert this log into the running gear of the tank. While this approach has been tested at the Parola Tank Museum and found to be a possible way to stop a tank, it remains unclear if anyone actually tried to do this during WWII.
It took me a while to realize what the cloak-like clothes on their backs are. Indeed, some Finns did attach a piece of bed sheet over their packs so as to better camouflage their dark-colored rucksacks.
By the way, the company is having a 50% off sale right now.
