A Japanese platoon in 20mm
I've been putting together a Japanese force with Chain of Command in mind. I've already played the excellent Malaya 1942 campaign and now with a Far East Handbook in the offing I've been wanting to make sure I have all the elements I need to cover the actions of most of the theatre. I've condensed all I've done into a single blog post for those that are interested in seeing more and you can find that here https://thetacticalpainter.blogspot.com ... mmand.html

Wow, what a great project! I've accumulated a similar pile of figures and if I ever get to the painting stage this article will be extremely useful!

Those are pure inspiration. Thank you very much for your posting and for the full details on your blog. I really appreciated that you listed all of the brand names for the figures. I'm on the lookout for some good horses for the Japanese. Can you tell me the brand that you used please? Thanks again and keep up the fantastic work! Barry.

Thanks, but I have to make a confession, the horse came from a German set of WWII cavalry, this one in fact http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=2045Barry Marriott wrote: ↑Mon Sep 28, 2020 8:31 am Those are pure inspiration. I have two of the old Airfix Jungle Huts and those sets come with two Japanese figures with pack horses. They are 1/76 so a little on the small side.

Nice looking unit.
The "nicer" EWM Japanese figures you note on your blog appear to be the ones that were formerly Sgt Majors Miniatures. (Alas, that sculptor is no longer working.) No idea where EWM sources/sourced the other Japanese figures in their range.
