7dot62mm's Soviet Scouts

So I needed a squad of scouts for our Kursk campaign. Of course they never made it onto the gaming table...

These are the excellent Elhiem figures. They have a mix of gear and different weapons.

A Zvedza SMG gunner on the left with an Elhiem DP LMG carrying fellow.

As usual, I'm mixing lots of different manufacturers. Unfortunately my new camera is much better at taking pictures than I am at painting so please bear with me...

Image
These are KJ Figures from Lancer, very traditional sturdy wargaming figures. They're all dressed and equipped very uniformly. I found the figures to be a bit difficult to paint and some had broken SMGs. But they do have some very good poses and are full of character.

Elhiem riflemen, the guy on the left has an SVT-40 (and is trying to use cat hair for camouflage).

Under Fire Miniatures Soviet Scouts heroically posing on some convenient rocks with a Zvedza observer between them...

Greatness is not in where we stand,
but in what direction we are moving,
we must sail sometimes in the wind,
and sometimes against it,
but sail we must, and not drift nor lie at anchor.
