staying logged in
staying logged in
hello all, has anyone been able to figure out how to remain logged in? I know some had the same trouble as me, with having to log in repeatedly during a browse session, but today whenever i got to the site I can only see the non-member portions because I have to log in again. Before at least I could see everything and only had to log in to post - any guidance most appreciated!
Re: staying logged in
I’m not sure to be honest. I usually use an I-phone or i-pad and they stay logged in unless they switch access (eg from WiFi to 4G etc). I don’t think there is a setting on the Forum itself which logs someone out if they have been logged on over a certain period ( but I could be wrong...)
Will have a further check.

Greatness is not in where we stand,
but in what direction we are moving,
we must sail sometimes in the wind,
and sometimes against it,
but sail we must, and not drift nor lie at anchor.

Re: staying logged in
thanks Mausman, it's happening with increased frequency and while it won't stop me from coming here, does dampen the experience a bit!
Re: staying logged in
It has never allowed me to stay logged in.

Re: staying logged in
I’ve been researching this issue. I think it may have something to do with the initial few weeks when we set up and changed the domain name.
Clear your browser cache, including cookies, and make sure you re-log using the theWargamersforum.com.
I’ll poke around in the settings a bit tonight - although not keen on messing with user settings In case of unintended consequences.

Re: staying logged in
I'm using Firefox browsers on three different machines and don't usually have an issue. But of course I'm here daily, usually many times a day. Occasionally (once a month maybe?) it will however ask me too to log in.
Re: staying logged in

Re: staying logged in
thank you chairborne - I will find out how to do what you suggest and report back!
Re: staying logged in
cleared the cache, and although that didn't seem to fix it, i discovered my problem - i bookmarked wargamersguild.com and kept trying to enter through that bookmark - when i replaced that bookmark with thewargamersforum.com - it worked! thank you for the feedback, it was vexing and i am not a computer savvy person

Re: staying logged in
Great, glad that’s worked. Perhaps I ought to write those as a sticky in case others are having the same problem.
