I'm interested to know for a potential future project - British Special Air Service (1st and 2nd) in Europe 44/45. Did they wear airborne/maroon berets or the sandy ones?
A quick google suggests they came under control of airborne forces prior to D-Day and were ordered to adopt maroon and this continued for the rest of the war. Apparently the sand berets continued to be worn in the Med.
Can anyone confirm/deny this?
Where to place research pics and info, and ask about the same....
