Nice progress feedback but forgive perhaps my silly question but where do you purchase these Raventhorpe resin buildings from ?
Not Don, but you only can order from here
https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q= ... miniatures

It's his FB page and storefront.

The owner, Tony Raven, is a very nice and accessible fellow, just drop him a personnel message on FB.

Not in any way associated with him, just an happy customer.

Hope this helps

Hi Don,

Sorry to be a pain but could you please post photos of the 28mm church next to some 20mm buildings to see how they fit?

Having completed the play test of our Goodwood scenario it is time to finish the terrain.

Started these back at the beginning of the year and got distracted

Image

Almost finished, just some minor touching up to do and then matt varnish.

Image

This is one of the Raventhorpe ruins. I have another nearly done as well.

Image

Lovely models great for large village bases.

More soon.

Change this thread to include some cornfield I am making for the Goodwood game.

Image

Shell holes are Ironclad, the res is just hardboard and some coir matting.

Image

This is the very early stages, need to trim the edges next and then polifilla the edges.

I have the intact version of the Hovels 25mm church. It is a very small building, arguably too small for 28mm being smaller than most 28mm houses, though it suits me as I have little space. It is only 17cm / 7 inches long. The front door is about 35mm high, but church doors are often large.

I hope that helps. (You can just see the 20mm houses in the background of one picture).

Great idea Don. It makes sense to incorporate those craters as it was a real problem.

Here's the Hovels church with a 20mm figure. I think they fit great.

More progress this weekend, finished two and almost there with this one.

Image

Another one of the excellent Raventhorpe ruins. I have added the base.

Hopefully will return to the church soon.

Also slowly making progress with the cornfields.

Image

There is also a few extra pieces of road.

Thanks. I'm totally sold. I've been looking for a 20mm church for some time now!

Helpful indeed. So more a small village church and less a city cathedral.

Gamecraft do a nice big one but it's expensive too:

Now back to the original post.

Some more progress.

Image

Almost there, but have a busy weekend ahead so won't get a chance to do more till next week.

Image

The glossy paint is still wet, so will matt down as it drys. I have added the base and the rubble.

Image

This is another Raventhorpe model I have started tonight.

I have two more ruins arriving in a parcel tomorrow, so will start those after the weekend.

Parcel arrived from Tony at Raventhorpe last Friday just as I was off to North Wales for the weekend.
Today is the first day I have had a chance to sort the contents out.

Image

Couple more ruined buildings and a ruined barn on the work bench.

Image

The barn is flat pack. All of them need washing before undercoating.

Still quietly working away at this project mainly building at the moment.
Still got more that a month till the next demo game, so plenty of time.

Image

Couple of Ravnethorpe buildings put together. Still need to add all the rubble before I start painting.

Image

Have this and another one I am working on which will be the last ones.

It is a great church, works well with the Ravensthorpe/Sentry raised churchyard

This is the last ruin I have to do for the demo game.

Image

Another Raventhorpe model, but I have added the walling and the gate.

Image

Many of the villages on the Goodwood battlefield were surrounded by walls, so I wanted to do at least one for the game.

Waiting for things to dry before I add some rubble.
