13/18 HUSSARS

Finished at last, after much converting/bodging and squinting at photos, they are ready to cross the Orne and help the fragile eastern flank of the bridgehead. Plenty more in the link below.. http://tanksandthings.weebly.com/gallery-18-1318-hussars.html http://tanksandthings.weebly.com/uploads/5/9/0...

Re: 21st Panzer Division

Thank you, interesting... the more you know, the more you don't know...

I subsequently found that dug-in 134 in "Panzers in Normandy" and assumed white. Certainly a solid colour anyway. I hadn't been aware light blue was one of the possibilities.

Re: Whose were those M10s?

I'd read it differently, but I agree the 3rd Division units would have to be pretty close to be providing direct fire support from AT guns. Longer range artillery might be more likely.
Thanks for the reference above to the M10 s being 3rd Division.

21st Panzer Division

I've ordered some more Panzer IV s from PSC [25% off at present!] and am inclined to try to do them as 21st Panzer rather than generic if possible to fit with my current interest in the earlier Normandy actions. Firstly can anyone confirm the colour of the turret numbers? Ive seen solid white on a c...

Only just seen these, they are great.
I don't generally go for Britannia tanks but these look good, and yes S and S stowage is perfect.

Re: 20mm M10 Wolverine and M8 Greyhound questions

I have the Armourfast M10, and they do tend to need some extra work.Sand S do useful stowage upgrades though the crew/shell rack packs are British only so far.

Milicast are ok to use but remember thay are 1/76 and will be on the small side.

Also Ready to Roll [Rapid Fire] I think do one?

Re: Whose were those M10s?

This was 8th/9th June, Le Bas de Ranville/Herouvillette.

The Rapid Fire Battlegames book refers in the same scenario to the airborne forces receing supporting fire from 6 pdr and 17 pdr guns of 3rd Division, which may be a clue.

But aren't some of these kits, well, a bit old?
Why would anyone torture themselves with the Airfix Churchill?

Whose were those M10s?

I've been quite interested recently in the early fighting after D-Day east of the Orne. At one point the commander of 6th Airborne's air landing brigade scooped up two M10 tank destroyers and added them temporarily to his command. What I can't confirm is the unit from which those vehicles came. I'd ...
